My wife, my 5 years old girl and my mother-in-law wrongfully accused of shoplifting, what can I do?

My wife, my 5 years old and my mother-in-law have been wrongfully accused of shoplifting in a shop found on most of the high streets in UK. They have been stopped outside the shop, next to a bus station and they have been accused of shoplifting by two security officers from the shop. Everything happened in Sutton, Surrey,in front of all the people waiting for their bus to arrive.
My wife has been asked to show her hands as the security officers were convinced she has a bracelet hidden under her sleeves. She explained to them that indeed she tried a bracelet which she gave to my daughter after trying it. My daughter tried it as well and she was the one that put it back on the shelf. They explained that they have followed them on the camera and that they know they have it. Because they could find anything under the sleeves they requested to see the content of their pockets, including the ones from my daughter's jacket. Obviously they couldn't find anything because they didn't take anything. My wife asked them to show her the images they were keep saying about but they refused due to Data Protection Act.
As a husband I am going mad about what happened. I went to the shop next day to demand some kind of explanation. Surprisingly the manager called my wife a thief and said that I should go home and have a very long chat with wife about what happened. I've tried to register a complaint with her but she replied she would not accept complaints against her members of staff "from people like me".
These events took place just before Christmas and we can't find our rest since it happened.
As both incidents have been recorded by their CCTV system we have asked them to send us the images but they are ignoring our requests.
They have send us a £10 voucher for the manager's offensive comments and £200 for each person wrongfully accused of shoplifting. The money they are offering would help them a bit but we don't feel that is appropriate for what the shock and embarrassment created .My wife is a Maths Teacher in a private Secondary School and I am a company director and the shop is located in our local community, so some of those people from the bus station could have been our neighbours.. What can we do in this case and what are our rights? Shall we just take the money and keep quit about it or take this matter in the county court?
I would appreciate if could let me know about similar incidents that happened to you or your friends and you have helped your children to forget about it?

I can't speak for the UK but my husband is retired from NYPD and has owned his own security business. One of the things they do is "loss prevention" which means they have plain clothes officers in the store and someone viewing the cameras. They all speak to each other. While they are not police officers, in the U.S. they have the legal authority to detain you if they suspect you of shoplifting until the police can arrive to arrest you. They definitely should have handled it better, asked her to come inside and then interrogate her privately rather than right on the streets, but in the U.S. they have the legal right to do so. Obviously they did not have enough evidence to detain her and let her go and certainly your pride has been hurt and you are afraid that perhaps her reputation has been damaged, but I can't see that you have a very strong case as they acted within their legal rights. I'd take the money as a sign of them saying you were right and they were wrong and try to get it all behind you.

How to prevent hooligans & terrorists from hacking into my WiFi network & internet in London?

I live in an ethnically diverse and racially sensitive suburb outside London which has a history of trouble in big and small doses. Those who remember the hooliganism of the 2011 UK riots will agree.

I also have a self defence establishment in the city of London where I teach people personal protection techniques. This place, as well as my home, have several WiFi connections that record in real time, 24 x 7. Some of these connections are tied to surveillance cameras and other security monitoring systems to detect suspicious activity including break-ins.

Recently, during an audit, I noticed several loopholes and vulnerabilities in my WiFi setup which could be bypassed, allowing access to unauthorized people. Some well-meaning neighbours and concerned community citizens too have complained of intermittent WiFi breaches, attempts at hacking by miscreants and unknown people (that's the tough part -- you never know who's going to target you, and why).

Following the horrendous Woolwich Attack and the deplorable beheading of the young British soldier in May 2013, I'm making a serious effort to ensure protection on all fronts. I can deal with the physical part, it's the technological part that I see as a weak link.

The last thing I need is some religious nut or far-right nationalist (this swings both ways) hacking into my WiFi network and using it for their senseless propaganda.

My question is: How do I beef up my WiFi connection so that it isn't hijacked by anti-socials and/or terrorists for their nefarious deeds? I want to do this the easiest and best possible way.

Install a military-grade encryption software on all your WiFi-enabled devices (laptop, PC, cell phone tablet). At the same time, do not broadcast your SSID (Service Set Identification). Do this and your wireless connection will become invisible, anonymous.

SSID is what the drive-by WiFi seekers will use to locate your wireless signal or network and sniff out for potential vulnerabilities in your setup.

Some of the vulnerabilities include weak passwords, lack of encryption on your router, etc. Once they find that, it won't take long for them to hijack it. (Trust me, these hackers latch on to your network like marauding leeches.)

Anonymity on a wireless network is the easiest, most effective way to safeguard your private space and your personal internet.

I recently installed a Logitech Orbit MP webcam on my XP Home ssytem. It seems that something in either Yahoo or the webcam software is hidden and it opens up my Yahoo messenger once the sytem is started. I have unchecked the start Yahoo when windows starts box. I have taken out the check in sign me in automatically. I've looked in Startup and looked in the Logitech camera settings still nothing works. Am I missing soemthing that maybe someone else knows about?

1)Danber is a virus which will not allow you to open internet explorer or join in chat room or login in yhoo mail, msn hot mail and e.t.c which you can delet or clean them easily with an antivirus

2) baslat virus w hich will shut down your computer without a reason. you can delet it by only the antiviruses i mentioned you at number (12)

3)gartebs virus which can damage your computer badly from evry part of it and there is only one why to delet them is that you must redownload the macrosoft you have which means will delet all the programs including the viruses. Gartebs virus can not be delet or even clean by any antivirus so that was the only the way i told you and please to it faster because it might your computer.

4)farcets virus which will not allow you to see viseos , play games or send any video and you can clean them easily by an antiviruses( better to use the antiviruses i told you in number (12) )

5)laskarts virus is a virus which automatically sign people out and if the virus be strong one it may shutdown the computers alo exacly like the baslat virus. I think you have this virus and to clean or delet it you just need to buy any antivirus and scan then but i can tell you this virus will not delet by only one scan because the virus will spread out every of your computer very fast and when you scan one time maby one or two of the viruses still be there and after 24 hours again your computer will be full of this virus. so please do not scan only one time at lease scan for 4 or 3 time which make your computer completely good .

6) Having genem virus which will not allow you to sign in into messengers such as:
1- Yahoo messenger
2- Google talk
3- MSN messenger

7) Having barets virus which can do anything like
1- sign in even you do not want
2- Can take you to the sites which contain viruses to damage your computer
3- At once take you to anywhere like Windows Media Player, internet, messenger, or even can delet your or clean your antivirus without knowing of you even when your computer is off( you should be very becareful of this virus) BECAREFULL..

Home Surveillance Suggestions?

I'm looking at purchasing a home surveillance system for the front /back doors and street view.

Im looking for something with a DVR that can record in a good enough quality to identify any intruders day or night.

Anyone with some knowledge in this department with suggestions on brands, bundles, etc would be great.

Im also looking for something preferably wireless so I wont have to run tons of wire three the attic.
