What is the best action for security at my business?

Sorry fairly long, but I do need advise. First, I want to tell you is the building sits in a residential neighborhood but it is commercial zone; it in the middle of the second block off a major highway and there is mix of residential and commercial properties in the two blocks. But most of the commercial properties face the highway. My building doesn't face the highway it is actually the last building before the zoning change. The other commercial buildings on my block are: next to mine is blight building (working on getting it torn down) and the other is the rear part of a motel. So there isn't a lot of foot traffic on the street during the day. My husband and I bought this building at an auction for little of nothing. Since the building is a double we figure we can lease one part and use the other part as a showroom for his construction business. Now, at the time of purchase the neighborhood was a quite neighborhood with little to no problems despite the motel. However, in the last year we have notice a lot more police presents. ( I want to mention we do live a block from the building) The motel have been attracting more criminals and more problems. The police have blocked streets off and have conducted searches for criminals (by foot and car) about 4 times since February of 2011 that we have notice. This activity usually take place at night, after business hours; however, that doesn't give me any comfort. My problem is the motel sits behind my building and as it stands now I will be in the showroom by myself 98% of the time. Keep in mind the street doesn't have a lot foot traffic during the day but do have car traffic. It makes me nervous to think I will be by myself in a business where people can come and go openly. I don't want criminals to get any ideas. So, I need suggestions on how to become less attractive to criminals. My husband would like to start the business slow and build a clientele by having only his clients and walk-ins to begin with. His clients I don't mind but walk-ins is the problem. My ideas: 1) To hire one or two people on commission bases 2) appointments only 3) appointments only with employees on a commission base only - to start with 3) of course cameras 4) have a buzz door to let people in 5) get a dog. Please, give me some suggestions on what to do with this situation. (I do know if we hire employees my husband slow build up clientele plan would not work) with that do the commission base employees bring in their own business or do we bring to them? Any and all serious suggestions, please. Thank you.

IT might be better, frankly, to offer the building out to someone else on a lease purchase basis
and find one that has more immediate access to the demographics you like. YOU said it cost
next to nothing, so, your risk on a lease out option is minimal.

I can also advise husband how to grow a construction firm..........almost perfect timing for this.

Why do people always bring up the native americans?

Q. Ive been searching through a lot of questions regarding immigration in western europe and America, Many individuals think that immigration should stop completely, while I don't agree that immigration should stop completely I agree that they should reduce the numbers, especially in my home country sweden where it's already hard to get a job, I simply don't understand why we should take in more than what we can take care of. And it also seems like my culture is declining. But I am getting ahead of myself here. Basically it seems like a lot of people bring up the native Americans, for example, let's say I lived in America, and let's say I would express that I wanted immigration to slow down, many people would say "Well maybe you should move back to europe, I'm pretty sure the native Americans didn't like it when your ancestors invaded their lands." I mean, first of all, why should they (Mostly white americans) be blamed for what their ancestors did? And why should we let the same mistakes happen again? What happened to the natives was horrible, why let something like that happen again? shouldn't we learn from our own mistakes instead of letting the same thing happen again? And sure, it's not like anyone is actually killing whites off, But white people are becoming a minority because of mass immigrations, many of you will probably say "what's wrong with that?" and I think a lot is wrong with that, And I don't like that the native europeans will be the minority in the future because of mass immigration.
Maybe we should focus on giving them a better life instead of talking about how horrible it was.

I personally would like it if "white" people gave themselves an ethnic identity and stopped referring to themselves by a perceived skin color which they do not have. Most "white" people I have met are a pinkish-peach color, lightly beige, sometimes tan. Its kinda weird that every other human being has an ethnic identity not wrapped up in groundless beliefs.

CURRENTLY, these are some of the issues Native Americans are dealing with on account of their "white" oppressors.

They had an army bumper sticker on their truck and were wearing their uniforms. NOTHING happened to them, the investigation was closed within 24 hours, even though the security cameras at the gas station clearly caught the image of the truck and the military housing unit the truck drove off to was within 1/2 mile of where the incident took place.

Not necessarily a scam.

They want unpaid regular people as "background" and "seat fillers".

When camera crews shoot video and pictures of celebs, they want the background of the picture to be full of nicely dressed, pretty people and this is how they get those background people. They don't want people chatting at cell phones, PDAs, listening to ipods, etc, they want people standing around chatting with each other and looking interested in what is going on. That is the reason for "no white clothes" and "no logos". White doesn't show well in pictures or video and logos would be have to be fuzzed out due to advertising issues.

After all the invited celebs are let into the event, they check for empty seats and start filling them with people like you. Ever notice how all awards ceremonies always are completely full? Never a single empty seat? This is how the event planners fill those single, empty seats, with regular people like you. If you get in, after being "background" for pictures, you will be seated by yourself, no where near your friend.

You have to meet that far away from the event so they can bus you in, you will be stuck there for hours, before and after the event, unable to leave due to security and the huge number of people there. After the event it will be more hours before you can catch the shuttle back to your car or a public transportation stop.

If you have always wanted to spend half a day at an awards ceremony without any electronic communication device, no access to food or water, have no idea where the bathroom is, be in the background of dozens/hundreds/thousands of picture and video but never identified in any photo or video, be seated away from anyone you know in a huge auditorium, wait hours to get home and do all this for no money and no recognition, then this is for you. If not, skip it all.

I'm pretty sure this was on an international Top Music Video Countdown (Middle of May, 2011) so I'm assuming it's pretty recent and fairly popular. Ive looked everywhere but can't seem to find the video. Any ideas on who they are and what song it is?

1.) So I'm 14 and never went to one and wanna know how old do you have to be to go without a parent and just friends my age? Because I went on AnimeEX website and all it said kids under 12 need a guardian or parent and nothing talking about teenagers?

1) You are correct. Anyone under 12 needs a guardian. ThirTEEN year olds and everyone older are TEENagers. That means you are old enough to act like a mature young adult and take care of yourself.

2) Depends. You will need money to:
buy the badge (which you will register online)
food (unless you pack lunch and dinner)
buy merchandise (if you see something you want in artist's alley for the dealer's room)
hotel (if you planning on staying at one. book early.)
parking (if one of your older friend's drives you guys there)
concerts (same location but separate venues. you will need to buy tickets online for those)

3) You will register online. You will need a credit card to make the payment. Since AX just finished for 2011, registration for 2012 won't be open until at least early January.

Pre-registering is the cheapest option. You can buy a ticket at the door but it will be about $25-30 more expensive (at Dragoncon the at the door prices are $100 more expensive...so...watch it.).

4) Cosplay if you plan on wearing it.
Bottled water and snacks.
Cell phone.
CAMERA!! for awesome cosplay pictures and documenting the experience for memories.
Sharpie. For autographs for guests, writing your name on the badge, and getting people's contact info that you made friends with at the con.

5) Yes and no. You can wear it all the way to the con. There is no changing room (unlike Japan where it's illegal to wear cosplay in public and there are designated changing areas for cons there). You will change in your hotel room. You will see cosplay on the street since people are walking from hotels nearby and parking lots. You can change in the car as well or one of the many bathrooms in the Expo.

6) Carry a small bag or shoulder bag. Most people put the bag to the side when asked for pictures. Other people sew in hidden pockets in the cosplay to hid their wallet, cameras, touch-up makeup, cell phone, etc. There are no lockers.

7) Of course you don't need to know a lot of anime. Some people just come for video games or concerts. Just be kind and courteous. You'll see a lot of kids your age lost their sh*t and act like crazies at cons. Socially dysfunctional weeaboos that everybody hates but they're so into their own worlds they don't see themselves. Yep, these kids dry hump in public and scream at the top of their lungs. It's like they think a con means they can lose are moral responsibility. *facepalm

8) It lasts 4 days. Normally it starts on a Friday and goes to Monday. Leaving at 5pm means you'll miss out on the best things. Usually the best stuff is at night (albeit you won't be able to go to the 18+ panels) like the masquerade and concerts (which start at 7 and 9 pm respectively most years). AX is a very wholesome, famous con where industry heads even attend. Directors to movies and shows go here to. They have medical staff on site and security for the attendant's safety. Also, AX is non-profit and profits that they do make go to SPJA charity. You attending means you're giving to charity. 9) I recommend it! AX is *the* largest con in the country. 128,000 people attended this year and it grows every year (that 23,000 more people than last year!). Having friends can help you explore parts you would feeling going alone. Buddy system is great and they can watch your stuff if you need to go to the bathroom. Plus the stories you guys would share together once everything is over is priceless!

10) Yes you will meet new friends as long as you apply yourself. If you find cool people and start talking but then part ways, shake hands and ask for their facebook (I feel like phone numbers might be too intrusive) and give them yours. Unless you plan on meeting up later for an event then phone numbers are a-okay. Cosplayers have "cosplay business cards" which show their pictured cosplay on both sides and their handle names to major sites they visit/email address. But this is for seasoned cosplayers. Other people sharpie their name/nickname on the back of their badge and have the newfound friend photograph you holding it up. Then they have a face to put towards a name when they go home.

Sorry fairly long, but I do need advise. First, I want to tell you is the building sits in a residential neighborhood but it is commercial zone; it in the middle of the second block off a major highway and there is mix of residential and commercial properties in the two blocks. But most of the commercial properties face the highway. My building doesn't face the highway it is actually the last building before the zoning change. The other commercial buildings on my block are: next to mine is blight building (working on getting it torn down) and the other is the rear part of a motel. So there isn't a lot of foot traffic on the street during the day. My husband and I bought this building at an auction for little of nothing. Since the building is a double we figure we can lease one part and use the other part as a showroom for his construction business. Now, at the time of purchase the neighborhood was a quite neighborhood with little to no problems despite the motel. However, in the last year we have notice a lot more police presents. ( I want to mention we do live a block from the building) The motel have been attracting more criminals and more problems. The police have blocked streets off and have conducted searches for criminals (by foot and car) about 4 times since February of 2011 that we have notice. This activity usually take place at night, after business hours; however, that doesn't give me any comfort. My problem is the motel sits behind my building and as it stands now I will be in the showroom by myself 98% of the time. Keep in mind the street doesn't have a lot foot traffic during the day but do have car traffic. It makes me nervous to think I will be by myself in a business where people can come and go openly. I don't want criminals to get any ideas. So, I need suggestions on how to become less attractive to criminals. My husband would like to start the business slow and build a clientele by having only his clients and walk-ins to begin with. His clients I don't mind but walk-ins is the problem. My ideas: 1) To hire one or two people on commission bases 2) appointments only 3) appointments only with employees on a commission base only - to start with 3) of course cameras 4) have a buzz door to let people in 5) get a dog. Please, give me some suggestions on what to do with this situation. (I do know if we hire employees my husband slow build up clientele plan would not work) with that do the commission base employees bring in their own business or do we bring to them? Any and all serious suggestions, please. Thank you.

IT might be better, frankly, to offer the building out to someone else on a lease purchase basis
and find one that has more immediate access to the demographics you like. YOU said it cost
next to nothing, so, your risk on a lease out option is minimal.

I can also advise husband how to grow a construction firm..........almost perfect timing for this.

Okay so my house was Burglarized on December 20th 2011. Taken was my safe which contained $16,000, my gun, prescription medication, my husbands necklace and a host of important documents, the DVR that was set up to record from my security cameras and last my daughters blanket that they used to cover up the safe while they walked it out to there car. I called the cops when I got home and I knew right away who did it.. A so called friend and her boyfriend! She planned it all out.. She knew I would not be home that day, in fact they were at my house that morning before I left. I was supposed to be going to the flea market a couple cities over to finish Christmas shopping after my doctors appointment and she made plans to go with me the night before.. She baited me with text messages, asking where I was, what time I would be back, if I took my kids, what time they would be home and what time I would get to the flea market and how long I would stay there.. I though nothing of all that until I got home. I never made it to the flea market because my doctor appointment ran late. A friend of mine down the road seen her car in my driveway after I left (he knows her) and a neighboor down the road came to me the day after and told me he heard my house was broke into and that he seen 2 people that matched them and the car he described matched them also and that he thought it was family of my husbands.. He said he seen them putting something big into the trunk of their car covered with a blanket that matched my daughters.. At first I had a hard time getting the police to really listen to me even though I called her and told her that my house was robbed and both them and her car were caught on camera, I told her that even though they took the DVR it was still backed up online! She tried to deny it to me in a text message until I sent her that, once she got that text message she changed her phone number.. I went to her parents house and tried to talk with them and got no where.. 2 days later I went to her house and her roommates told me she hadn't been there in 2 days and they were worried. I explained to the what happened and asked for their help/ I asked for them to call me if they seen any of my stuff.. Well at 4 that morning they called my husband and said that they must have went home in the middle of the night because the 2 small dogs were missing and that there was a crowbar and hammer laying on the bed that was not there earlier. That morning I called the cops again and told them I had all this information but that no one was wanting to hear me.. Before I knew it there were 6 cops and a detective at my house getting all my information and told me they were going over there right then to get the crowbar and hammer.. I guess they found a lot of stuff in their home including some of my medication bottles so they issued a warrant. The roommates told them that she picks up the other roommate every day between 5 and 6 so the cops went their and waited for her.. When she pulled up they arrested her and her man on 7 charges! On her they found a little over 9 grand, over 1,000 worth of Christmas stuff she had just bought and had all the receipts to, her man had my gun on him, she had a bunch of my medication on her and they were driving a rent a car on their way to Disney World for Christmas!!! The detective called me a few times while they were in questioning and said he would call me when he was done but never did, that was on the 23rd. Friday was a city holiday so he wasn't working so I called the officer that helped and asked him some questions.. He said he needed to come over to my house anyway for me to sign my witness statements so he told me some of what happened when he got there.. He told me to call on Monday to see about getting my stuff.. I had no Christmas for my kids!! Monday I called but it was another city holiday. On Tuesday I called the detective again and asked him if he got any of my messages and he said he did. He went over the details and told me he was working on a few things but he would try and get me some of my stuff back. I called him again today and he said he would call me this afternoon that he was working on it but he never did.. I know he said I wont get the gun back right away or the medication. Am I really going to get my money back or do they need it until everything is over?? I am worried that I will never get it back and they will just order her to pay me restitution. She told them that we all set it up together because my husband sells drugs and that the DEA was watching me so we needed to stage a burglary.. None of that is true and I think the cops know that.. It took me 4 years to save that money.. Mostly income tax, severance pay and what I threw in there whenever I could. Sorry this is so long but I have no one else to really ask about this.. Like what happens now??? Will I get my money back?? Has anyone ever went through this??

You will most likely get back the 9000$. They shouldn't have to keep it for evidence, but the gun and medications will probably be kept there until a court date is set. She will be charged for armed burglary, theft over 5000$ and several other offences. You can bring her to court to get the rest of the other money. You will be able to sue for several different things. In the end, you will receive everything back and plus some it will just take some time.

Name that Asian boy band!?

Forewarning: this is a tricky one..
I was recently in Thailand and saw a music video for an Asian boy band but I can't remember their name or the song's name either.
The video was set at night inside what looked like a hotel or office building in the middle of a large city. The video was based around them breaking into the building. There were a few fish-eye shots of one of the guys looking into a security camera.. Most of the scenes were of the band members running from, and beating up American looking guards... And at the end of the video, they played their song with instruments at the top of the building.
The music was up-tempo pop... They reminded me alot of the backsteet boys' rock influenced ballads. Most of the singing was done in their native language (Japanese?) but a few lines were in English.
I'm pretty sure this was on an international Top Music Video Countdown (Middle of May, 2011) so I'm assuming it's pretty recent and fairly popular. Ive looked everywhere but can't seem to find the video. Any ideas on who they are and what song it is?
