Best Single Security Camera?

Sturtz

I have a new car in my carport. I only want 1 camera. Is it possible to just have 1 camera that will save recordings for like at least a day? I prefer wireless but I am open to wired cameras. It needs to be nice quality and visible. The carport has a light on at night but I want one that doesn't need light, incase they break the light on purpose. I don't want to spend $500 for 8 cameras right now. I have a Mac computer that it can connect to. The hard drive has a lot of space (like 400gbs right now) and its fine if it uses the computers hdd

Answer
Hey man, you should give A1 Security Cameras a call. 1-866-441-2288. They can give you much better advice than Yahoo Answers can.

They've got great cameras and know their stuff inside out. You can check out their website at http://www.a1securitycameras.com

If it were me, I'd look at the http://www.a1securitycameras.com/Vivotek/IP-Wireless-Camera.html which is more than you want to spend, but it's killer quality and does what you need it to do.

http://www.a1securitycameras.com/Vivotek-FD7131.html is cheaper and domes do a great job.

Make sure you call though, they can cut you deals sometimes.

Fake security cameras in the market?

I heard that there are now fake security cameras in the market. Do they work as well as the real deal?

Answer
Fake security cameras can be used to deter criminals from entering your house or vandalizing your property. Unfortunately, if it doesn't work, you wouldn't be able to record the crime and you wouldn't have any form of evidence that would help you and the authorities identify the culprit.

garage door with camera?

Kelly L

i need to see when my husband gets home as he is opening the garage door

Answer
so you need a surveillance camera right? one of those cheap cctv like cameras you could hook in to your computer is logitech's security cam. another one is from linksys.

they both have sensors which triggers recording when detected a motion. this can be set on its settings. you can also time the recording as well.

you can also view the camera even when you're halfway around the world thru the computer via the internet.

i'm planning to get one of the logitech but not anytime soon.

Which security camera is better for the money?

Logitech alert 750e or Loftek Nexus 543? Both can be found on Amazon. I need an outdoor camera with night-vision for the home. Eventually I will probably need to install 3-4 camera but will start with one before spending more money. Or is there a better, inexpensive camera system for outside the home? I live in a relatively good neighborhood with some occasional mischief from neighborhood kids.

Answer
Both cameras have a CMOS image sensor which is the cheapest image sensor out there and provides the worst quality of video among security cameras. The images show in the amazon product description are smaller versions to hide how horrible these cameras are. I have used these and they are total junk. The ip camera also has the same poor quality, possible even worse. You are better getting a CCD type wireless camera. Do your search for that on Google. Once company that has some good ones is Avalonix. If you can run a wire then pick up yourself a $300-400 4 camera system with CCD cameras that will provide better quality.
