I want to put on in my apartment to record who is coming in and what they are doing. Anyone have experience with these sort of things. I want one that will record to maybe my computer and not real expensive.

U can use a trail camera or game camera, which is what hunters use to watch wild animals without them knowing.

But if U want to record to your computer, here's another option: Use a regular web cam and "dorgem" software. The computer acts as the motion sensor via software.
