Answer
Here is what you need to do :
1. Switch on the camera. [Depends on your cam. Some may require to be in OFF stage. Do as you connect when you download images from camera to Mac].
2. Connect the camera to your Mac via USB.
3. The memory chip in the camera will be seen in your Desktop as an external disk drive. [ A white colored drive icon similar to one shown in http://castinet.castilleja.org/public/technology/support/security/images/mounted_disk_image.png ]
4. Double click the drive icon and it will open the Finder as if you are browsing a normal folder. Copy the images on to it and you are done.
Note : If your intention is to pass the images among your friends via camera you can copy the images at any location. On the other hand if you wish your camera to recognize the images and display in its LCD, you need to copy it to the standard location. Typically you need to look for a folder named "DCIM" within the mounted disk. Look for images you shot from camera within this folder. Copy your images from your Mac to this folder . If the images you copy has long names change them the format of the images put by camera. The file-names can have maximum of 8 characters with extension having 3 more characters. Commonly it will be in format DSC_xxxx.jpg where xxxx will be a counter ranging from 0001 ~ 9999.
(DCIM stands for Digital Camera IMages).
If you wish to do the same from iPhoto follow the same procedure. You can use the "Export" feature of iPhoto to copy the images. In this export "Save" dialog choose the folder within the mounted disk.

Is there a free security motion sensor camera program for mac pro?
Henry
i was looking for a program that records stuff when someone stands in front of it and is lockable, so no1 who notice that it is recording and that my mac screen lights down to 0, could delete the recorded video. Or if possible record when the whole mac is shut down, which sounds silly.
