What do I need to install a Home Security Camera System?

I want to install a Home Security Camera System. I don't want to buy a prepackaged kit because I want to invest in better camera's. What will it take for me to build a system if I buy a used monitor and CPU and new camera's? I don't know what else is needed to create my system.

You will require drill , mounting bracket & Camera for installation.

First you will have to take decision about the proper position of Camera. Then you have make mark on the wall. You will have to drill the holes & fit the mounting bracket. Connect the wires from camera to monitor. Check the power supply with tester and give power to Camera.Position the camera so that it faces the proper area. Check the overall operation.

How can i moniter a security camera somewhere else from home?

im looking to buy a system that i can moniter a security camera at my lakehouse in a different state. I want to have the camera there monitering the driveway and i want to be able to see this on my computer screen. Does anyone know where i can buy a system that i can setup to do this. Please post links if possible. Thanks!

most home security company's sell equipment as such.. you monitor things over the internet. Just call and ask
