My friend was recently hit and run in a ralph's parking lot, and we noticed it had security cameras outside. Are they mainly just for the front of the store or do they see some or all of the parking lot? And if they do see the parking lot, can they pick out a license plate?

Do police check parking lot security cameras for minor hit and runs? like paint scratches? i read somewhere that police don't check parking lot cameras unless it involves some sort of injury.

Probably not, but it depends on how busy the police are. If its Chicago PD, they probably won't. If its some small town sheriff without anything else to do, he might.
