I have 3 mobile phone handsets which i do not use any more, i live in melbourne and i want to send them to india (delhi) so that my family and friends can use them. I do not have any recent travel plans so i am thinking of using parcel service to send them. Is there any way i can send them? What would be the approximate cost? Are there any custom or security regulations regarding electronic goods? Who should i contact if i want to send them?

Brother send anything but send it through govt post, that will help avoid custom. It can be so that Australian post does not send phones, if have sent phone cameras from India to UK, USA many times it costs between 1200-1700 Rs . But i think if its a blackberry or iphone etc it is likely to atttact custom. Declare it as Gift and mark less value so that if there is custom it is less. Rest for price check local australian sites

Domestic travel is simple. immigration check is NOT required for domestic travel. Chennai airpot has two terminals one for domestic and one for international in the same campus. Check your ticket where to board.
Enter in to the airport showing your ticket and identity card if required.
Scan your check-in luggage :
Scan your Luggage: this to be done prior to the check-in there will be scanning machines for each /set of airlines the scanning will be done for your check-in baggage. Put your luggage thru the conveyer belt and scanned luggage comes the other end of scanning machine. The luggage get sealed there.
Do Check-in and collect boarding pass
Check-in your Baggage: Do check-in all your luggage other than Hand baggage (You may carry a laptop and/or a small suitcase/backpack as cabin baggage.)
Take your Boarding pass : you would have bought ticket from travel agent or booked in website (e-ticket). That to be showed to the corresponding airline counter during the check-in procedure. You will be issued boarding pass. You may choose your seat there ( window /aisle)
Security clearance;:
Take your hand baggage ( don't forgot to attach the address tag of the airlines). And pass thru the security area as directed by the security officers. Your hand baggage goes thru the scan and you walk thru the scanner. You may need to put wallet, cellphone, camera in the scanner along with the hand baggage.
Boarding
Wait at the security area suggest near the boarding gate (for your airline) till announcement to board. Watch the announcements carefully.
Board the flight after the call.
( there may be direct boarding from the lounge or need to travel by bus till the flight.)
Other Point to be noted.
Reach airport at-least 1.5 hours before the flight time. Since first timer suggest 2 hours in advance. (international travel required 3-4 hours of advance reporting)
Do not carry any sharp equipment or any other prohibited items in the hand baggage. (scisors , blades are not allowed), liquids (oil,perfume) limited to 100 ml
Do not hesitate to ask the clarification from the airline staff if you are not sure what to do next. They are helpful. Do not ask fellow passenger.
There will be sufficient announcements in the screens and speakers. Watch that carefully.
Do not carry any luggage or items that are NOT belong to you. If any
body handover parcels that may contain prohibited items and may put you in trouble. Do not trust strangers and new friendship
