How much should a basic security camera system cost a company?

There have been some car window break-ins at my gym (at TWO branches in different towns that I know of) and these are small parking lots, basically around the building. Last night was my turn. I'm sure they have a sign somewhere saying "not our responsibility" but they should want to keep their paying members a little safer without raising our dues too much.

They already beefed up the way members scan ID's to get into the gym.

I want to suggest some better outdoor security to them. Cameras or other alternatives?
