What do I need to install a Home Security Camera System?

I want to install a Home Security Camera System. I don't want to buy a prepackaged kit because I want to invest in better camera's. What will it take for me to build a system if I buy a used monitor and CPU and new camera's? I don't know what else is needed to create my system.

You will require drill , mounting bracket & Camera for installation.

First you will have to take decision about the proper position of Camera. Then you have make mark on the wall. You will have to drill the holes & fit the mounting bracket. Connect the wires from camera to monitor. Check the power supply with tester and give power to Camera.Position the camera so that it faces the proper area. Check the overall operation.

Im looking to buy a home security camera system ( home surveillance system) off of amazon but i want to know which brands are better & im only looking to spend $200-300 on one. Im looking at the 4 cameras with dvr & the outdoor ones becuase i want one with the better night vision.

Any advice would be good thanks.
