Some of the HP programs are for HP to help you resolve problems. They are resource hogs and if the system is out of warranty then you do not need them.

Also i have selected a 500 GB Hard Disk Drive. should i change back to 320 GB?

The W520 just came out, so I would advise against since you can get a better CPU with one of the newer models.

If you stick with that, here's my advice:
-Scale back the RAM and user upgrade. It's much cheaper and isn't that hard to do.
-Go with the FHD display. It should be much better.
-Consider a quad core i7 instead of the dual core.

EDIT: I mean go for the lowest possible RAM (2GB I believe) when ordering and buying a separate 8GB DDR3 SODIMM RAM kit for around $90, and then installing it yourself. It's a simple installation (remove one or two screws and a bottom plate, remove old RAM, install new RAM), and it's much cheaper. In fact, I believe the W510 has 4 RAM slots so you can get 12GB including the already installed modules if you do that.
