best security camera night vision image
I have a security camera, but it does not have night vision. Is there anyway I can make one, or get one under $10, to makw it easier for my security camera at night? (The lights can not be seen by the human eye)

use ordinary lighting for security at night. it ups the bar for anyone trying to do wrong if clearly visible, so that is as much a deterrent as cameras. ordinary lighting will give more detail and color which are important clues to making an ID. IR is monochrome and blurry and in some cases not admissable as evidence.
the cheap IR illuminators simply use LED's. they provide enough IR to be useful at about 2 meters (6 feet) maximum distance, great for camcorders at parties. totally useless for surveilence. you need the military type IR lamps, about the size of a small refrigerator to cover a parking lot.
not seen by human? get real, all a crook has to do is use a pocket digital camera to find IR illumination sources. doh.

I have a wireless security camera, is there a computer program so I can record it onto my computer as a video?

I don't want to go buy a VCR and record it onto tape. Is there a way to record the video directly to my computer...i.e. a program that will record from the camera?
