what are the best security cameras to use for night recording? IR or low lux?

I am putting in a surveillance system because our house is getting constantly tp'ed and want to figure out who is doing it. Cost isn't really a problem but within reason, I obviously am not going to install FLIRs around my house but something in the $100-200 range per camera. Also, does anyone have any good DVRs in mind? I want the best picture quality and internet viewing.

Security equipment store. (we have these in California), and a Spy / surveillance store. find one, and they will have all you need.
