I just bought a security camera, it has 3 wire tv adapter cables. The 3 connected wires are yellow, red and AC adapter wire, all 3 are completely connected up until they split into 3. I was wanting to be able to hook it up to my laptop some how. So I was wondering what I have to get to have that happen. I thought I ordered the wireless but guess not and taking it back is not an option due to not having time. Thank you for the help!!

Hi,

May be you need a USB connector type which as a USB connectivity interface on one end and 3 female pins on other ends. May be you can shop for it on amazon.

How can I record off of my security Camera?

I have a security camera. That has night vision on it. Problem is I don't have a dvr. What I do have is my cpu, a digital cable box that has dvr, and the camera and receiver. Is there anyway I can record footage with these items? If not what would be my cheapest route?

If the cam receiver has a USB plug, it can tether to the computer.
If it's "Plug-n-Play" it should be detected and self power through the USB line.

Then, since video takes huge amounts of hard drive, you want a 'motion detection' software, to capture things that are moving while in the camera's field of view. That reduces the space needed on the drive.
Here's some of the software (it's free):

Hook all of these things up and test it indoors to see how it works, alignment, and so on.
"Save" from the software selected onto the computer, to a folder you create. Somewhere on the desktop is handy to get to.
