How can I set up a security camera feed using the internet?

I am trying to set up a continual live streaming security feed, and I was wondering how I might do that using the internet and wifi instead of cables. I would also like to use web cams instead of security cameras. Is it possible to do this and stream it live on a site for monitoring? If so what software should i use?

I have about five televisions in my house that are all on the same cable wiring system for watching TV. Can I tap into this same wiring and go to a security camera and be able to watch the camera? Will it work this way, or do I need to run a seperate line from the camera to the TV? I hope I can just tap into the cable company wiring on the side of my house because that's where the camera is....this would be so much easier.

More than likely the answer is "No you can't"

Most cable systems use coax cable, and modern security cameras normally use RCA or TPN/CAT cable.

Also, even if the camera used the same type of cabling as the cable did, the cameras impedence would interfere with the cable signal.

Besides, I would prefer to have the security camera hooked up to a computer or other external dedicated recording device (since I couldn't/wouldn't watch it 24/7 and when I would want it most is when I am sleeping).
