I want to install a security camera to see if/who is continously going through my terrace and ripping holes into my gate.

The problem is, I have no where to install the camera. The door leading outside is entirely made of glass, so I was thinking of installing it near there and pointing the camera outside.

Would that work? Or would there be glare problems and such?

Answer
It will work.

In practical life lot of security cameras attached behind the glasses.

ATM Machines have one more camera built in side and behind the small reflective glass.

All dome cameras covered with glass. You can see all over the places.

What do I need additionally to set up a outdoor dome camera?

I want to set up a outdoor dome camera, but I know nothing about it and I was given a price that was to high for me, so I need to ask you guys. If I bought a outdoor dome camera what else would I need if I wanted to have it constantly record on like a dvr or something? I don't necessarily want to monitor but if I did what would I need for something like that as well? Thanks for any information, I truly appreciate it.

Answer
You need some way to power the remote camera. You need some way to transmit the video. This guy does a fairly thorough job of explaining it.
