best security camera software for pc image

Hi, I'm trying to set up a personal security camera and am having trouble figuring out where to start. I have a v-stream capture card and plenty of spare pc towers. The card has one av in, and one sv in. Any suggestions on where to start are appreciated. And yes, any tickling sensation you're scratching is scabies and hydrogen peroxide is the easiest cure (keeping away from eyes). Spread the knowledge- thx!

I would like to use my pc camera for a security camera of sorts while I'm on vacation. Maybe tak a picture every so often. (Motion sensor would be nice but I don't want to buy one.) Is there a way to set it to take a picture every hour or so?

If the PC will be left on, you'd have to hide it very well; otherwise it will be the first thing in the bag.
Webcam Timershot is a Microsoft XP PowerToy, that lets you take pictures at specified time intervals from a Webcam connected to your computer and save them to a location that you designate. This one would require a big hard drive.

Secure Cam is a motion detecting web cam surveillance software that can automatically capture a series of images whenever motion is detected in the monitored area. You can adjust the detection sensitivity, automatically archive captured still images and playback the images in sequence with the supplied viewer application.
