Looking for a wifi cam to be used indoors for security surveilence. Has to be accessible from iPhone, preferrably via iphone app (vs. via safari browser) and preferably without a dedicated cam server in-between, in other workds, iPhone app => Wifi Cam.

How does one get their Trendnet IP100W-N Camera to stream to a Blackberry?

A K

Wanted to be able to view the security camera from my blackberry. Any ideas about how to stream the video from my security camera? As it stands, I can't access it from the Blackberry browser or Opera. The feed uses a java applet which apparently is unsupported by any of the blackberry browsers (though java is supposed to work with Blackberry's).

Thanks in advance.

Answer
I've used these cameras for some time now -- not the N models, but the earlier G and B models.

Anyway, if that Blackberry won't accept the java app that you have to use, then you're going to be stuck just looking at still images and not video.

On my ipod Touch, there is an app called "Live Cams" with provides an interface to the ipod touch to MJPEG video sources like the Trendnet cameras offer (http://livecams-iphone.com/). Perhaps there is a similar application for the Blackberry available.

Also, this web site (http://www.ehow.com/how_2076586_use-java-apps-blackberry.html) suggests that using the WAP web browser on your Blackberry is better than using the Blackberry's internet browser for Java app. Apparently the Java on Blackberry devices is a modified version, so it may still not work with the Java app provided by the IP100W-N.
