Usps Problem. What to do?

Xzavier

I got a confirmation that my package was delivered today, when i got home there was no package in the mail box or at my door? So i went to the post office and all they could tell me is that I should have it. So I looked on my security camera's and the mailman didn't even stop at my house she just drove past it. Yet it was delivered? I called and told them and they told me mail doesn't get delivered on the weekends so i have to wait till monday to do anything. It was a 80 dollar package and i have evidence it wasn't delivered, if by the off chance she just forgot to stop and give it to me and confirmed it at the office which looking at the times that it got to the office and then supposedly to my house she didn't can i get my money back?

Answer
I would call USPS at 1-800-257-8777 and press 0 and then press 0 again. They are open on Saturday. Give them the tracking number and tell them what you saw on camera. It may have been stolen. I would aslo call USPS Postal Inspectors at 1-888-877-7644 and press 3 and tell them the situation. If they can't seem or won't help you,you will need to write the the address below. Give them the tracking number and tell them what you saw. USPS still delivers mail on Saturday (as on August,2012). Try going to your post office and see if you can pick it up.

United States Postal Service
Office of the Consumer Advocate
475 L Ensant Plaza Sw
Room 4115
Washington DC 20260-2200

Answer
"am I just a cynic?"

Yes, you are.

I'm old enough to remember when we used to have "attack drills" in school in case the Soviets decided to bomb us. Imagine little kids essentially being told "If the country is destroyed, you have a chance to survive if you just get under your desk".

I know people who didn't have kids because they didn't want them possibly living through a nuclear attack that would basically wipe out the US.

My parents both grew up during the Depression. A lot of people had to resort to barter because there was no money. At one point, my grandfather was working six hours. A week.

Then there was WW2. Since my parents were in California, that was a couple of years of blackout curtains so the Japanese couldn't see our cities, a 35 MPH national speed limit, and good luck getting butter, meat, and a lot of other different stuff. Did I mention the dozen or so of their classmates that never came home from the war, and the couple of dozen who were injured and never fully recovered?

(BTW, back then, "the draft" meant if you had use of both legs and both arms, you were going in. No "possible" about it. And we're a long way from needed a draft, anyway.)

The dollar is not "dying", and nobody is seriously looking at dumping the dollar. First off, there's nothing to take it's place (the yuan isn't going to become the reserve currency as long as the Chinese keep manipulating it's value to make exports cheap, and as soon as they stop, the base of their economy dries up). Second, this is what some countries do from time to time. Look up the definition of "saber rattling".

And if you really, really think we're becoming like Nazi Germany, ask a holocaust survivor about the differences.
