Hi, I am looking to purchase a small, cheap security camera that can be easily hidden. I need to make sure my roommate is not going into my bedroom during the day. Price Limit is $100 & I need something that can record, not just take pictures. Any Reccomendations??
I have been looking at:
Belkin - Netcam Wireless Surveillance Camera, Model: F7D7601
D-Link - Wireless Surveillance Camera, Model: DCS-942L
The only problem is these aren't very small!

DCS-942L is the smallest I can found from the web, but not good reviews. Are you looking for a SPY camera?

So i'm looking to wire up my house for surveillance, I dont need anything too fancy like $200 cameras or so.. I'm looking for something that will just work, I would like it to have pan and tilt, and maybe zoom would be nice.
I have heard about the brand Foscam, do anybody have experience with this? reviews?
And, if not, can anybody recommend a trusted brand ? nothing too expensive, but something that is not cheap either, I will need it to work. I want motion detection and etc.
Answer
Not familiar with the hardware end of things, but if you want pan, zoom & tilt, you're probably going to pay a lot more.
A Wide Angle, with hi-resolution may be cheaper, and still cover a decent area. Check on the "Resolution" for field of view (may be in degrees) to get a comparative idea. Get 2 cams if necessary for full coverage. (some of the items below can handle multiple cams).
For software, here's some free items that work pretty good:

Pick one you think fits the bill, and hook it up inside the house to try it.
Get another one if it's too hard or doesn't cut the mustard.
Good luck.
