There are security cameras everywhere and since everyone has a camera in their phone their are probably many thousands of images and videos to review.

Stealing from walmart?
Okay...so I got caught stealing a 3 dollar item from walmart today. I know it's wrong, and I feel bad. I felt bad doing it, not just from getting caught. I paid for everything else, but couldn't afford that item. However, I have done the same thing many times before, bought some stuff, and stolen smaller items that I couldn't afford. They asked me if I had ever done it before, and I told them no. The truth was that I had. I feel terrible. I'm almost glad this happened because it woke me up. But could they go back a few weeks and months and see me stealing then? Or do they pretty much not go back and look at old tapes to find people stealing?

Additional Details
I feel terrible, and I am aware of prices rising because of theft. I don't mean in the future - I will NEVER steal again. I mean would they look for me in past tapes?

No. they do not have the time to go back and review every tape for the past weeks to find one shoplifter. My son in law was a Wal Mart manager for years and everything from lawn mowers to TV's have been taken out of there. I do hope you have learned from this. It does contribute to higher prices for the rest of us and Wal Mart can get very nasty about this is they have to.
